Where would I get this

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nothing wrong with F1s they look just like wilds, and not as demanding. F1s are cool no stigma.

Agree with Tom, F1s are sometimes as good, or better. Less chance of internal parasites, and can be much more adaptable to an aquarium situation.
I have had some (not all) wild fish take 6 months to basically come out of hiding.
I have some wild caught xC ornatum that are only visible during feeding, the rest of the time they spend in holes and caves.
If your purpose is to end up with F1 fry, that's a different matter.

Agreed. The only reason I would specifically want F0 is if I were breeding. For anything else, I'd actually rather have F1+.

There are plenty of folks (Jeff excluded) who will sell you a tank raised fish as wild.

Everyone wins: You think you've got a wild fish, it's healthy and well-acclimated and can post hundreds of pictures of it. The vendor has sold it for 10x what he could for a farmed one. And everyone on here can postulate about how its far superior to "inbred", tank-raised fish.
