I'm a newbie and am wondering what kind of fish is best to start breeding? I was thinking something along the lines of guppies at first.

^^^ What he said. Guppies are the easiest. If you get 3 or 4 females from a store, chances are that one of them will drop fry even if you dont have a male :-)

What size tank do you have, or what size are you planning on having?

Guppies or platy's are easy also African cichlids are easy to at the right size. But best start with guppies as there easy to sell.

A tip buy an already gravid female its cheap and easy way to "breed" a fish.

Good Luck.

definetly guppies first, then try kribenisis, they're dwarf africans

Convicts they breed like crazy!
