hello. i have a 6x2x2 sump filtered tank.. i filled it up to the very top of the weir 3 days ago now the water is halfway down the weir i could not find a leak? so could it be evaporation? the heaters are in the sump and half of it is not covered the tank is covered and there is alot of condensation on it. it has been doing this for maybe a 2 months now., it is winter over here in australia.. the tank is uneven ( not level ) as are all of my tanks ( floor is insanly uneven) although i use styrofoam between the tank and the stand,.. could this split a seam? PLEASE HELP ME!! im in desperate need of advice

Your saying 50% of the water is gone 3 days later? I have add water to my tanks every couple of days due to evaporation but thats too much water. I don't think that could be evaporation (but I don't live in australia), maybe like you said there is a small leak in the seams can you feel any water on the outside of the tank what is your tank standing on?

I had a 100g tank leak out from the seams when I was at work, sucked.

that's is too fast if it is not a leakage. evaporation isn't that fast either.

Think it through before you post guys...

The main tank is 6x2x2 right?... the sump is much smaller right?... The water level on the main tank is consistent right?…

That is a wonderful benefit to having a sump, evaporation never lowers the display tank, even though water is evaporating out of the display tank... all of the evaporation displacement is seen in the sump...

Therefore if you have a 55 tank as a sump... then you have 16 square feet of space emitting water via evaporation... yet only 4 square feet showing the displacement... so for every 1" of evaporation your tank looses, your sump will drop 4 inches...

Now of course, it's possible you have a leak and you should check into that possibility as thoroughly as you can...

Please do not freak out because your tank is unlevel... Not being parallel to the surface of the earth does not stress the seams... a "twisting" force on the glass does...
