i'm thinking about starting another arowana tank. i found a listing on kijiji for 180g 4'x3'x28 tank. do you think this would be better for should i get a standard 72" long 180g?

not sure yet. i'm still in the planning phase.i already have a gold aro, i want a red one if possible. maybe get an ornate bichir? or rays, but i don't have any experience with them. i have to get the tank first it's a custom build. my gold aro has a senegal bichir with it

4x3 is better but not ideal as I personally think neither tank is big enough, a 6x3 or 7x30” would be ideal for aros

They are exactly the same for arawana. 4×3=12 & 2×6=12. Both have 12sq' surface area. The question becomes what else goes in if anything? Breeding cichlids that need have caves far away from each other to reduce aggression then 6foot better. Big display drift wood as centerpiece then maybe the 4footer. I would measure different places in you home based on reduced traffic, indirect sun, interior wall with plugs, optimal viewing angles and direction of floor joist (making tank perpendicular). And let it best determines size or if your married ask you wife to decide that way it will always be part her decision and not just an other fish freak cluttering the house
