I am making the slow process to brackish, which test kit should I use to test the water with, the freshwater master, or marine master, or doesn't it matter since I was told as that they are both fine as long as I have a high-end PH tester.

I've been told that any amount of salt in the water will affect the test, and therefore you'll be better off using the marine kit.
I remember reading somewhere (I don't remember exactly where) that you want things to be labled as marine and fresh compatible. The reason was that these tests where salt independent, and therefore weren't affected by the salinity of the tank. I use API 5 in 1 test strips for my brackish aquarium. Not as comprehensive as the full kit, but it gives me the vitals
