Which arrows make the best comm?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
asians seem to COm, well together, but you need alot of them. i would go with at least 5 to be safe

silver or black arowanas... best way to start is getting 3 or 5 small ones and grow em out together.

The key to having a successful aro community has nothing to do with the number of aros. What you need to have is the ability to house the arowana separately if it goes wrong.

There is no guarantee only any combo, for every example someone has for success, someone else had the same go very badly. You not going to know if it works until you try it. So figure what you want and give it a try, just be able to separate immediately if needed.

It's better to get a batch of them from the start. Not a need that they must all from the same batch but must intro to the tank together. If you are having a aro in your tank now and want to start a com, the new comers will be terrorized by the old fish in there. And to start com, best is to have more aro in one shoot rather than 3. Whoever tell you that 3 can start a com is basically trying to rip you off. And 5 is not a sure thing that the aros won't fight.

Another thing is that when asia aro fight, they are not bothered about the silvers or black aro in the tank.

agree, silver or black doesn't help with the fighting.

So in other words I'd have to get rid of my current arrow to start a comm?I don't want to do that because I like my current guy..... I guess no comm for me then. Even if I was to get another 4 and added them at the same size and time my current fellow would take on all 4 née ones???? This doesn't sound right....

The point is you have to introduce them all in the tank together so they all new to the tank environment, but from my experience even if you do that, they will chill for a few days and the fight still occur once they use to the tank environment. So just take risk and add them then hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
