Oh and my ornate is rreally shy and likes the dark and isn't too active and seem to be getting less and less active the bigger he gets.
The del acts just like the Sens do... constnatly out swimming, constantly looking for food.
Sens IME, have the best personality but some people think they are too plain. Dels are like sens but with a cool pattern.

i think there are numerous people with 20-24 inch endlis and not much bigger. maybe MsMassPolly has a bigger one?
there are certaintly no 3 feet endlis. Even the primers lists there max size at 32 inches and those are wild sizes.

If you dun want a very big species of bichir, del is the best choice. Ornates gets bigger than 18 inch in a big tank, endy grows to a large size. as for del, they are manageable at about 14". mine only at 9 inch after kepping for 6 years. 
Tank size would help before I suggested one. If you are looking for endlis, rkc (vendor here) had smaller ones for $35 or $45
