Quik post, I'm almost done digging my 12x7x3ft deep pond. It has to be cold water. The filtration system is more than adequate, and removes all waste from the pond, with perfect water quality. The pond is 1850gal. I can only keep cold water. Right now I am leaning towards a musky, pike, or alligator gar. I want to get a couple catfish ideas. It will not ice over during winter due to a bubbler and water fall. I'm in central indiana so it can get pretty cold, with the air temp at 0 degrees on the cold nights in the middle of winter, any recommendations?

You should decide which you would like, musky or pike, or an alligator gar. With a gator gar you will have problems with pondmates. They tend to attack other fish that are housed with them and are unpredictible as far as how they will act. The pike and musky should not be anywhere near as bad. I would go with channel catfish.

Channel or flathead catfish?

I would go for a Albino Channel, they are among my top 5 favorite catfish species , Get huge, great wet pet attitude

What are sturgeon like as a pet, are they predatory? I meant it could be the only fish with a school of feeders, Are sturgeon predators or just scavengers?
