im going to pick up a male female pair of dovii at about 5-6" i want a very nice blue pattern and color,am i better off goin with a costa rican pair or a nic.? im really focused on that bright blue color.
thanks

IMO the costa ricans have the colors I like. Check out flowerpowers pair and the dovii threads I posted are costa ricans as well. It's all a personal preference on what u may like. If your going to pick them up then choose the nicer looking pair wether theyre nics or costa rican

Nicaraguan are 'blue wolves' costa rican are 'yellow wolves' both have blue only difference is CR have gold bodies with a blue hue and Nicaragua have tanish grey bodies with a blue hue

I like Costa Rican Dovii's to me they got the color.

I prefer the nics more blue

Ditto, Costa Ricans are all over the place, I had a big (for a 90 gallon) 16' male Nic. Dovii about 12 or 13 years ago, and have been seaching for another ever since. The brighter blue, the purples and greens there is no comparision IMAO. I have had a few costa ricans even wild ones that were nice and colored up but still felt like something was missing and wasn't satisfied. I finally got 7 nic grow outs with about 3 males and two biggest have pair out the last two weeks. And the colors on the male are really popping out, both are between 5 and 6 inches. They were raised from just 1/4 inch , barley free swimming. The male has a nice nuchal hump going on. I will post them when I can get nemesis to come over and take some good picks and videos. My camera is terrible and the colors would not come in right. I live blocks away from Flowerpower's dovii pair and see them just about every week and his pics while good don't do them any justice as seeing them in person. They are the nicest Costa rican pair I've seen and they stay on fry 24/7, 365 days a year. But I wish more people would post more big Nics., I know your out there, put them up and represent, and let us enjoy them.
