So I got a new fluval EBI tank for Christmas from my brother and wanted to make it a nice high tech, co2 injected, planted tank with a few select Taiwan fire reds or CRS's inside. I hear the filter that comes with the tank is junk... So I have decided to upgrade to a Eheim classic 2213, 2215, or 2217, or even etc... (larger models
). Don't really want the 2211 as it is only a few dollars less than the 2213, I hear it gunks up much faster which in turn requires much more maintenance, and I hear the classics flow can be adjusted somewhat by using the quick disconnect valves (to a piont and then they will start to make noise). So I was wondering which model I could get away with in this tank without blowing the shrimp around and causing them too much stress from turbulence? The bigger the model the better as a larger model Eheim classic could be more usefull in the future if I decide to upgrade tanks one day (11.4 gallon Mr. Aqua or even bigger). Was thinking the 2213 would be the best size as the others would be too much flow in the EBI? The 2213 could also work well on my 11.4 my Mr. Aqua if I decided to change it to the high tech planted shrimp tank one day. Currently the 11.4 gal Mr. Aqua is my dedicated low tech planted shrimp tank. My focus though, for right now is the EBI tank. (More details on my plans on my other post in the planted section.)
Thanks for your advice!
