Hello I have two flowerhorns, one jin kang and other bonsai.
Both are adult fishes between 1-2 years old.
I want to breed them before they are too old. Only suitable sized females that I have are female blood parrots and female midas/rd .
Should I try parrot or midas for my males. Which species has a better chance of giving better fry.
Those are my males;

I would also use the Parrot's they are much easier to pair with FH and are much less capable of inflicting damage on your males then a female Midas who does not wish to breed at the time. Also I would not try to breed the 1st male he has a lot of traits I would not want to pass on to fry but the second fish is worth a shot. Goood luck

lol the first one looks like a bent up chunk of metal to me.. Second one is nice.

First one is better than it seems in the pic, spine is not bend. Here is another pic when it was younger.

By the way I dont have the female midas at the moment but it is not a normal midas as the seller says it is an offspring of midas×bp, a short body midas with a normal face.
So I change my question, regular bp or short body midas?

Also the bonsai fh is much easier to breed because it is only 5-6 inches the fader is over 10 inches and very agressive.
