which type of filtration or filter would be the best for my 55 galllon tank. already have a underground filter can you guys qive me some suggestions

To get the most efficiency from your UGF, you should power it with a powerhead in reverse and make it a RUGF.
AC (aquaclear)110 are great filters but if you are going to stock light you can get away with an AC70 with your RUGF. I wouldn't go any smaller than that.

AC110 is IMO the best HOB filter out there, but i just recently switched from HOB to canisters and ill never go back lol. I just set up another 55 and put a Cascade 1000 on it from Ebay for under $100. If you wanted to go with a canister i would suggest a Cascade. Ive read alot of reviews about the filter seeing i was on a limited budget that the g/f put me on and after setting it up and hearing it run its alot quieter than my fluval 405 and has more flow for more than half the price. I know some people are hardcore fluval supporters and ill prolly catch he!! for this post but oh well lol.
