I plan on setting up a 20 gallon plant take up in my kitchen, could use some advice. What type of filter would be the best? What else do I need to make it a decent looking plant tank? Ideal plants would be ones like Glossostigma elatinoides.

depends if you're gonna do co2. I love aquaclears!!! Their quiet and get the job done. easiest plant to grow is the temple plant. If you use CO2 you can get the red ones. check out aquariumplants.com. They even have plants on lavarocks and DW which makes planting easier. I love dwarf hair grass!!! You can add like a piece of DW and tie some weeping moss or star moss...or any moss lol. Or you can make a moss wall. Have you looked into baby tears? I loved having them in my tank, but they didn't last long because my CLs ate them... T_T
What else would I need to have a proper setup with co2 as well? I would of course love to make it insane. I dont want to spend too much tho, seeing as how it is only a 20 gallon tank. Those baby tears are brilliant. I am looking for anything like that, simple to keep too if possible.
