I have a cycled 40 gallon tank. It currently has 2 jds in there but around December I'm going to move them to a 55 gallon tank that I already have setup. When I move the jds I want to get either
1 Senegal Bichir (They say it will get +12 inches, but I think 8 inches is much more likely)
1 African Brown Knife Fish (The same size thing as the bichir)
1 Leopard Ctenopoma (6-7 inches)
or any combination of the three. Which fish or fishes do you think would be better.

Sorry for duplicating this from my other post. I just need more answers.

Is this a 40 breeder? Or just a common 40 gallon

The dimensions are weird. It is 41l x 10w x 19h. When you calculate it out you get 33 gallon(l x w x h/231), but after I put all decor and gravel in I counted how many gallons it held, and I counted 37 gallons. So the general consensus is Senegal with leaf fish?

Yes, the Senegal and leaf fish would work.

I dont think the african can. If it is a brown knife fish it probably wont. but if it's a clown knife then yes it will get over 2 ft.

You can get all of them. Knife,Ctenopoma, and the Sen. However, my concern is the width of the tank. It may not be good for a poly, but if you get an Albino Sen, that would be better. 95% of the time, they stay under 10" While the gallons seem good, it's best to go by dimensions.
