Which fish to add?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ummm im getting gold barbs later today cuz you could breed them, you could try breeding them too

First you should increase your current tetras and barbs to at least 6 of each.
You don't mention the species of pleco, but if it's the common don't get shrimp. Although they're thought of as algae eaters, they won't pass up an opportunity at fresh meat. Shrimp would be on the menu.
I would avoid the sharks as they can be quite aggressive, especially small fish. You would also only be able to get one. They are very intolerant of their own species, and red-tail sharks as well.
Keeping in mind that any of the tetras, barbs, and danios commonly found in pet stores need to be kept in schools, the more, the better.
The rainbow fish prefers a higher pH than the others.
I would recommend the giant danio as the attention getter or center piece for your aquarium. They can grow to 5", so will be quite a bit larger than your tetras and barbs. Minimum of 5.
My recommendation is the zebra danios and/or the tetras. You can get more fish and/or larger schools.

Thank you, its a bristlenose pleco currently 4-5inches. I think i will be adding the danios and tetras and boost up my gold barbs. And as for the ghost shrimp il jsut throw them in there, their only 10 cents so if they dont survive its a snack.

Thanks

I only have one zebra Danio and he's quite aggressive. Maybe it's because I only have one?

I also noticed that neon tetras, well the ones that are orange and green naturally, they don't school with the other colors. My orange stay together, and my green stay together. Never in one big school like I thought they would.

I would say Golden Barbs. :D
