I have 2 120 gal tanks, the one my bichirs are in currently has a footprint of 72''x18''. I just recieved a new tank, 120 gal with a 60''x22'' footprint and was wondering which would be more appropriate for my bichirs. i like the look of the bichirs in the longer tank, but i think that they may be happier in the shorter wider tank. any opinions are much appreciated

cheers

IMO i'd go with the 60x22 so that they can lay which ever way they want in your tank.

I would go with the 60x22, but thats mostly because I want a 5foot tank. I think either would be fine, although B.Ho does present a good point.

I agree 60x22, however 72x18 is a suitable tank too. Set em both up?

Personally I'd go with the 22 because of the width of the tank. However, I don't think it will make much of a difference so if you really want to use the 72 it should be fine as well.

they both will be set up one will be jdm style tank w/african preditors; bichirs,1x T.buttikoferi, a couple of featherfin synodontis. hopefully will be adding a group of parachanna obscura and a group of large ctenopoma(either kingsleyi or acutirostre). not sure what the theme for the second tank is going to be
