I have two viaaqua 300 watt heaters on my 260. The tank is in the basement where it's cooler. The temp has never varied more than a degree. I am really happy with these heaters. I think the external control dial is a big plus too.

i like the via-aqua titanium heaters a lot. i have many. i'm just not trying my first Fluval E series heater, a 300 W in my 180. i love the display always telling me what the temp is, no need for an extra thermometer. i had to add another heater, it wasn't enough for the 180, but i'm not unhappy with it at all.

only time will tell, my problem with heaters is that they stop working just when i need them most. every year in December i start jumping through hoops trying to make sure i have enough working heaters to get us through the rest of the winter.

the via-aqua titanium heaters seem to have a 2 - 3 year life span. none of the others i've tried last more than 1 yr. though i do have 2 via-aqua 250 W heaters that i've had for 4 years now that are still working great.
