They have the totally submersible stealth and the topfin brand and rena which one do I buy for my 300 gal tank would prefere to totally immerse it. Can I totally immerse other brands or just the stealth?????????

I have the Rena top model from a couple years ago it is totally submersible... I would recommend getting 2, just because of the size of tank also encase one fails.

Go with the stealth, but first price match it with there website, you'll save big bucks.

stealth is an excellent heater. I also have a 300 gal, and I have 2 visi-therm 300w and 1 top fin 300w. I guess some has to do with the temps that frequent your area and house insulation etc. I would recommend starting with 2 stealth 250w(highest watt stealth heater I've ever seen). If they stay on alot then I would get a third one. The visi-therm is nice also and a little cheaper. Thats my 2 cents.

I have never tried the stealth but...I totally love the rena smart heater and it is totally submersible. It also saved my fish before. I had a month old hydor brand heater that failed and wouldn' shut off. I only noticed because all of a sudden my rena heater was flashing which made me look at the temp and it was about 85. Who knows when I would've noticed if not for that heater. I now have 2 in my tank.

Would 2 stealths 250 watt be enough for a 300 gal in S. Arizona, winters are fairly mild but for 2 months can be cold in winter down to 28-30 outside, inside say 67 F.

I have a 300 gallon tank with a 200 gallon sump and heat it with (2) 250 watt heaters just fine at 80°.
