Which is better for a sump?

Im looking to get a bigger sump for my 300 and headed for a 80-100gl sump.

My Q is should I be looking for more leingth or width?

Example... a reg 100gl (leingth) or a box 100gl (width)??

It really shouldn't matter either way. The only problem I would see with the wider one is that when you allow the space for your pump you are going to be wasting more of your volume since you will most likely be taking the baffles straight across.

Don't know if it helps any but here is the design I am going with for my 300. It will be a 75 gallon sump.
