I currently have a strip light over my 10gallon aquarium but I believe the bulb will soon burn out, so I was wondering if a t8 bulb that is around 6.5-10k or two cfls that are both 10w would be better?

Either/or will be fine in my opinion. But can you list some more info on your tank? WHat kind of plants? Are you using any fertilizers and/or co2 injection? In my opinion though a single T8 bulb or 2 CFL bulbs 10-15 watt each would be fine.
i have crypt wendtii, anacharis, i think some spiralus sal, and java moss, with regular gravel with no ferts or co2
CFL's do not put out the same type of light as T8 T12 or T15s.
