which is better wide or tall?

okay heres a problem i found two nice sized tank but the 150 one gall is tall and wide and not long at all but its 200 bucks cheaper and the other tank is 125 gallon way longer and less wide but its 200 more then the other tank stock list for the tank is
2-3 senegal bichirs
2-3 Red spot severum
1 EBJD

I'm assuming the 150 is the 48x24x30? If so, get that. All fish would be fine in either tank, but the extra width on the 150 would allow more room for some more polys down the road.

with that stocklist it really wouldnt matter, Im geussing the 150g is 5x2x2 vs the 6x18 125g. Either one is good but if it were me Id go for the extra length so if you want to change the stocklist you have more options

the only reason why i leaned more to the 150 is its 200 bucks cheaper and its more gal but the length on the other made me wonder

IMHO length is more important than width but height is least important and if you put a 25g sump underneath it they would both have the some gallonage

Gallons are important but in my opinion surface area is most important .

well the 150 is 590 bucks new and the 125 long 700 bucks new
