Which would be better in a 100 gallon 6 foot long tank.

3 oscars

1 oscar and 2 BP's

1 oscar and 3 Silver dollars or Tinfoil barbs or other???

Also please tell me the awful things about having an oscar. You can also tell me the good things as well : ).

MESSY EATERS = 1 oscar in a 100 gallon.... Just my opinion.

A 100 gallon isn't big enough for 3 oscars. You could have territory issues when they are older.

I would probably go with 1 Oscar, 3 Silver Dollars and a Tin Barb.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having an Oscar. They're like aquatic dogs.

I raised a Tiger Oscar for 10 years and sort of miss him. Yeah they are just like dogs, just under water.

I would do 1 oscar, silver dollars, and a blood parrot cause I think anything short and fat is cute.

i have some in my 90 cramped for now, always fighting.

just set up my 85 and should be separating them in a few days.

what are the dimensions on the 100g 6ft tank? more lateral swimming area is better than vertical for these fish IMO.

Oscars commonly hit 14"+ so turning room is essential and in a 100g 6ft tank I cannot imagine the foot print being that large.
It would be helpful to supply the dimensions and filtration type.

Thanks all. The aquarium is 72" X 18" X 19". I have a Rena XP3, a Rena XP2, and a Marineland HOT Magnum 250.

The second or third choice. BPs get along great with oscars.

I oscar and 5 silver dollars. I would skip the tin foil those guys can get 18 inches or so.
