I was wondering which species stay small. Isnt there a species that doesnt get very big (under 12")? And how many, if any, could live in a 125g.

ah ok. someone had told me that one species of pbass maxes out at 12". I was misinformed. Which is the smallest species and what length do they typically reach?

Kelberi, intermedia, and orino's, some say they stay under 18" but this is a lie, as there have been some individuals of each species to get over 20" in aquaria. I say prepare for the MAXIMUM size the fish will get and not the "average" all the average sized fish are either not fully mature fish or stunted fish.

ok thanks guys. way to big for my 125.

They all have the potential to outgrow a 125, but I'd say that a kelberi would do fine in there for a long while. Trouble is, they're pretty hard to come by.
