Some lavish aquariums here, some ridiculous, some breathtaking. Which is your favourite? I like the idea of the shark house mansion aquarium. I like the idea of the stepping stone walkway that leads to the seated area. I imagine sitting down there and chillaxing watching my fish all around me. Though I wouldn't do salt like they have, I'd make it a little deeper and go fresh.

I liked Stephen Ireland aquarium.

I kind of like that same one as well, although it is obviously much larger than the 300-gallons that they describe it to be. And, yes, I can think of numerous other stocking plans for it that I would prefer, including even Koi.

I like the Ireland tank; but again, I don't believe that it contains 500 species of fish as described. The Fruchter tank is outstanding...but I wonder what makes a guy spend that kind of time/money/effort on an aquarium, only to go fetch raw seawater for it weekly on his golf cart?

Some of the tanks are just plain ugly IMHO; the Kanye West tank looks exactly like I would have expected it to look. The insane headboard tank is horrific. The Turkish 164-foot outdoor tank looks like it belongs in a baitshop.

Not at all impressed by privately-owned tanks that are obviously just turn-key pro installations which are continually serviced and maintained by outside professionals, rather than being tended to by the owner. An aquarist takes care of fish; an exhibitionist buys them and pays someone to maintain them just as an exercise in "Look at MEEEEE!!!"

Number one favourite? No contest, it's the only one of these tanks I have seen in person: the Mirage aquarium. Stunning.

Thanks, Esox, for posting this. I virtually never watch any of these YouTube vids, but I enjoyed this one. :)

Yeah, "horrific" is a great description of that headboard tank. And yes, no doubt about it, there is a lot of, "oh, I've got loads of money, look at my aquarium which I haven't got a clue how to look after," going on.

Things like this should scare the hell out of us regular down to earth hobbyists really. It gives an insight into what can be achieved if money was no object. We wouldn't be able to help ourselves, it would be house moving, extension adding, multiple mega tank buying mayhem, lol.

But at least we'd know what we were doing, not like the vast majority of these celeb types.

So the snake/fish tank outlived its novelty and has already changed hands once and about to again? Totally unsurprising.

Even here on MFK, for every "dream" tank that is built or seen or simply imagined, there will be a handful of responses from people who seem to be trying to figure out how to overcrowd even the largest aquariums and how to get away with not changing water...:)

It shouldn't be a problem overcrowding huge tanks, it's just a welcome step up for some people who expertly overcrowd their small ones, lol.

I think I vaguely remember this tank from that show. I used to watch it at one time, until I became tired of the over the top totally stupid tank themes that they were building.

Yeah, the two guys building those tanks acted as though they had never actually kept fish themselves. The rich client would go out for the afternoon or the weekend; the crew of experts show up and install some hideous joke of a tank; our two heroes visit a supplier and say "We need some pretty fish"...and they'd get back to the Beverly Hillbilly mansion just as the hose finished filling the tank. Plop! Fully stocked tank, just in time for the proud owner to waltz in and start oohing and aahing.

Yeah...that's the way it works in real life... :uhoh:

Totally agree, it was a joke of a show fronted by two clowns basically, nothing about it struck a chord of how things are in real hobby life. But I suppose it's all about enticing those viewers, just as the various jokers on you tube will do anything for clicks. And for a good while they had me viewing too!!

I noticed they made an appearance in that video of the tank which looked like it was being eaten by that giant shark contraption. What an eyesore. I'm betting they had a whole lot to do with the building of that monstrosity too.
