Im keeping my biggest snapper inside, because its -4 celcius outside.
But on a Dutch forum here is some misunderstanding about if given vitamines
and minerals in powder form, there's no reason to give some uvB to the herp.
I say ye, but I'm the only one, it seems.

What do you all think?

it does not need UVB. Especially if it is outside in the summer anyways.

does not need it. But it is not harmed by it.

I've had mine for 8 years, and had it since it could fit in a coffee can, I don't recall ever having any kind of special light except maybe when I first got him. So I'm going with not really necessary.

I think as long as you are providing a good staple pellet with proper vitamins there isn't much to worry about

I never have UV on mine for the winter. Just heat. They get plenty of UV outside all summer. But if hes gonna be in for more than 3-4 months i would do it for sure, or he'll start showing that he hasnt had it.
