So I have a 55 gallon right now and I bought some vallisneria (variants) and anubias and some crypts. I understand they dont need alot of light.. but I still see my plants dying! though they were just shipped from a vendor and put in about 3 days ago. I would like to change my light fixtures possibly into ones meant for plants. Though i dont want to spend too much on them since its only a grow out tank, and the new tank coming is gonna use LEDs. But I would like to care for the plants now. I heard aqueon flora max is good.. Any suggestions?

What type of fixture is it? T8, T5 is it single or double 48"? If it's a 48" T5 double I like the Flora max and 6500K combination.

The flora max should do the job spectrum wise, weather or not a single bulb fixture is putting out enough light for the palnts is another story and where the root of your problem lies. Double T5s on a 55 is what I've used in the past with good resluts, then you could do the Flor-max and 6500K combo.

Since mine are 2 single fixtures ill try that.. Bu I feel it may be uneven. So maybe 2x flora maxes?

Yes if you only have singles useing 2 flora-max bulbs would be the best option.
