Currently, I am in the process of getting rid of my Mpimbwe Frontosas (5 of them), a Malawi Eye Biter, and a syn cat. They are just getting too big for my 55 and have to go. However unfortunate this may be, I do not have the ability to get a bigger tank for my apartment and I would rather give the frontosas up to a bigger home. Right now I am contemplating what fish I could replace them with in the 55. I want to avoid any possible future tank upgrades for the fish I would be putting in it, so I'm looking for some fish that can stay in there for life. Right now I am leaning towards a Male Green Terror, convicts, silver dollars, firemouths, and a senegal bichir (or maybe go the dwarf pike route?). What do you think I should put in there out of those fish? I would really like to have a great looking male GT so which of those other fish, and how many, should I put with the GT? Like always, I would like to avoid substantial aggression conflicts between the fish. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

why dont you do african cichlids like the little ones not the bigs ones like the font or maybe you can keep one??

empty the tank and then Let of breeding convicts go WILD in your tank with a school of some catfish(pictus maybe)controlling the population but first let your convicts breen lots!!!! idk about u but when i have a spare 55g again and i want to try this!

you could go for a dwaff cichlids ... you could have more fish.....just an idea.....i would have the gt with a pair of convits and poss a pair of jewels, these fish are all quite agreeive though so lots of hides is a must..... good luck and pics would be great when they are settled in... i miss my gt :)

Silver Dollars get too big for a 55.

Male GT's get about 12".. so too big for your 55.

Firemouths or convicts would be your best bet.. or honduran red points.

if you want to enjoy your tank after work, a 55G with 2 or 3 pair of angel should work!
