My mom's 55g has become a science experiment of sorts with unwanted fish from many sources and its time to get rid of them (well, it's been time). there is ich in the tank, which was "introduced" by accident from the pictus, so they will all stay until it is gone. right now, they all seem to be okay and dont really bother each other, at least when we're around. my question is what can be kept in there comfortably? there are plenty of hiding spaces, filtration is 1 top fin 60 HOB filter and i am going to make a 10g wet/dry. it is at my dad's/mom's work and they like all of the fish in there, but it cant go on like this, esp. w/ the weak filtration it currently has. so, i ask you, what fish can we keep w/ the ones that are staying (under "staying:" in the list). the JD and africans have been in there for quite a while and seem to be doing fine. the africans actually were in pretty soft water before (not ideal conditions). my thoughts are that the ones she definitely wants to keep will be more than enough.
Staying:
7" female jack dempsey
6" P. acei (female?)
3" rubber-lip pleco
4" green severum (if possible)
????????:
2" red tip shark
2" giant danios (x2)
3" gourami (x3, "blue" and "gold", i think)
4" pimodelus blochii
2" pictus cat
will get way too big and have to go:
3" bala shark
2" sailfin pleco
6" common pleco
4" red oscar
dont really want anyway:
6" orange zebra (african cich)
i may keep the gourami and danios in my 20g until the aro is big enough to eat them, even though i think gouramis are one of the ugliest aquarium fish you can get
