Ok, I have the 180 (72x24x24) stocked now with a Tigrinus and a Black Aro that will be here Friday. So, now I need another tank because I want a Juruense Cat and a Silver Aro, and my 180 is maxed with the 2 fish. So which tank is better for a full grown silver? here are the 2 I can easily get, 72x36x24 or 96x30x24 are either of these gonna cut it for a big old silver?

Plan C, which I'm not too wild about is a DIY plywood tank like 8' long by 3.5' approx front to back. Obviously it would be a better size but a pain to build. The first 2 options I can just order and pick up. I'm a little doubtful about a full grown silver turning around in a 30"?? although I'm hoping my Black Aro can do it for life in a 24"

You'll see a lot of huge silvers in tanks less than 30 wide, they can still turn around because of their ability to basically coil themselves up .

totally agree :)

Go for the 36" wide. It'll help your Aro grow a lot longer.

96x30x24 It may not have the width but the extra length will be appreciated by everyone in the tank for territories and such.

30 wide....
