I'm having to hard of a choice deciding.. Which one would you take if you needed something this size?

choice #1
010100010211010401200710126edd2f1ed88eb77143008ddc.jpg

measures 48X25X13. Holds approximately 65 gallons, nothing included.
$100 but within a 20minute drive

choice #2
The tank is all glass 18x22x36 (60gallon) and comes with a metal
frame stand.

$100 but I have to drive about a hour to pick it up.

choice #3
Is a 55 gallon loaded with reptile stuff (which I could sell/trade or use for my own iguana) but I don't know if its going to hold water.

$45 and also about a hour drive.

Going by the Dollar per gallon rule...tank 3 is easilly your best deal. plus it has more accessories (lights are expencive). All of the tanks face the possibility of needing resealed..
The 60 with stand is a breeder configuration...good for some fish and not so good for others.

how can you tell if it is a breeder tank? I will be throwing me 1foot midas in the tank I am buying which I know is not big enough for him but its better than the 30gallon I have him in right now. Thanks for the help,

I would go with the 60 as it is 18" wide and the 55 is only 12.5" wide. The R.D. will like it better....

Standard 55 width

right after I got done replying to your last post I checked my email and got the best news of the night..

"In that case I'll agree to $80, because I've been
wanting to get rid of it for a long time. I do have a
power head, filter, and heater for the tank too. If
this is going to be a saltwater tank I have a few more
items as well.

thats for choice #2 (the best choice)

I'm hoping he will give me the accessories or at least cut me a deal.

I was going by the diamentions you gave. our 60 is 48" x 18". A Wider tank would be a breeder but that one looks more like what they call a 'tall' (I didn't look at the pictures last time around.)

You can still use the skelter filter by the way...just leave off the protien skimmer and the wisper looks to be in good shape.

tomorrow I am going to pick of the 60gallon for $80 (choice 2.) It doesn't come with anything but a iron stand. I currently have nothing for the tank and I'd like to get my midas in there asap.

Here is a list of everything that I have right now that I could swap around between the three tanks (let me know what you would do)

30gallon tank, large sponge filter, 100 watt heater, and a whisper. (I have a undergravel filter for this tank that I am not currently using that I could set up.

20gallon tank, medium sponge filter, 100 watt heater, and a whisper.

The tank comes with no hood/light or anything so I am going to have to figure out something for that right away since my midas has jumped through a closed lid before, luckily I was in the room to throw him back in. I'm also going to need at least a 150watt heater for the tank.

I can throw the filter I got on my 20 gallon on there for now leaving just a sponge filter in the 20g. I also plan on putting the large sponge filter I have in my 30g in there. Once I get the money I am going to invest in a emperor 400 filter unless you guys suggest something else. If you guys could let me know where to get a hood for this tank and a good budget heater please let me know. I know that I can probably find a junky heater at my LFS for $15 but I don't want something thats going to break and fry my fish.

Thats all for now, I will let you guys know whats going on with the tank when I get it.

You dont always need a hood. Personally, I just find that it serves a cosmetic use. Your going to thank yourself if you were to buy the widest, yet longest tank.
