OK I m ashme but I have to admit to you all that I dont know much about cars, the models, engines and all that gud stuff. Nonetheless I know that I can afford one, so I wanted to get an honest opinion from you MFK who are car crazy.
I want to know Between the Mazda speed6, Mustang Cobra 06, and the Pontiac GTO 2006, which would you perfer/ buy it for yourself if you had the money?
I ask that because just this Christmas me and my lil bro got a Mazda RX8 and I just dont see myself sharing stuff anymore. so I want a car that is both hot and fast, I m thinking that the Pontiac GTO will smoke the mazda..... m I wrong?
 
well the mazda has a rotary engine and you are comparing that to a V8 the V8 wins out every time in my book. rotary lumps are crap and thats why they are rare. id have the cobra and spend a little extra money on a vortech supercharger and then go out and blow away everything on the street. but im a V8 mutt. here are some of my american cars (pretty rare here in the UK)

The most practical car is the mazda, the one I would buy is the GTO. The car has been around for a while as a Holden and has the small block chevy that has basically been around forever (there have been a few changes yes, but basically the mechanics are the same) I'm not a ford fan AT ALL so i wont even comment on the mustang. The RX8 will hold its own with the GTO but in a straight line the GTO is faster. (I LOVE rotary engines though so RX8s are WAY up on my list). If you are looking for a fast practical car in that price range that will destroy and RX8 definately look up the Subaru WRX STI, or the Mistu. Evo8.....But personally i Think the STI is a better built car. So the short answer to your question....out of the cars on your list get the GTO :thumbsup:
 
For an arround town car that is going to get you arround most of the year that you arn't afraid to drive I think that the GTO would be the way to go. It got a mean sound too. By the way, you will be hard pressed to find an afordable mechanic for a rotary engine that will know what they are doing and be able to fix the problem.

BTW, danny boy, I like the farm all... your the reason that they had to change the name to international though... sorry, that was a bad joke.
 
Very true about the mechanic....but rotarys are so simple that you could learn to work on them yourself. we've got several 13b engines because they thought they were seized...but usually its just carbon lock which is easy to fix!

You could also throw a 'charger on the GTO and make it REALLY mean. I think procharger has some sound clips on their website of the GTO with their blower. they sound sweet:D better than a roots type blower IMO
 
go gto.. mustangs dont hold up to the beating.. gto's have been around for awhile.. i think this new gto is pretty much a corvette with a new body..so it will take the abuse.. mazda just doesnt seem to have that throw you back in the seat feel on take off. GTO would be the way to go.
 
Actually it was based off of the Holden Morano but does share a lot of Vette stuff.
 
why the hell did they stop making the monaro! what an awesome car... too good to cancel i reckon
