Hello I am a relative newcomer to the fish keeping universe, but I have been intensely enjoying the hobby.

I am hoping that I can solicit some advice from those of you more experienced than I. I have a 75 gallon tank and a 60 gallon tank. Both are cycled and ready for fish I have a couple combinations that I would like to try out and from the research I've been doing, it appears that the 60 gallon tank is likely adequate, albeit not ideal for either of them. That said I could use some advice.

Please help me match the tank with the fish combo...

Fish Combo 1: Tiger Oscar & Raphael Catfish
Fish Combo 2: Jack Dempsey or EBJD & Green Terror

Which of the combo's needs the 75g tank more? Will the 60g be adequate for the other combo?

Bonus Question: Can I get away with adding an African Red Jewel to either of these combos (I would prefer to add it in with the GT & JD) and would that effect which combo goes in which tank?

Thank you in advance for all of your help!

Side note... I have more than enough filtration in each tank. The 75g has a Fluval 306 canister, Marineland Magnum 350 canister, and Aqueon Quietflow 55/75 HOB. The 60g tank has a Fluval 306, Aqueon Quietflow 55/75 HOB, and a Top Fin 75 HOB.

I wouldnt mix ebjd with a gt. Ebjd are not as aggressive as reg jd's

Thanks for the help! I had the Tiger Oscar in the 75 already and was considering rehoming him, but I think I'll leave him there and get a GT and JD for the 60.

I had purchased a 4-5" Raphael Catfish and added him to the tank yesterday. When I woke up this morning, I see no signs of him. Is it possible that my 4" Tiger Oscar ate the Raphael without leaving a trace? I don't have too many hiding spots in the tank.

From the research I had done, it seemed like the armored catfish (of similar size) was an ideal tank mate for my apparently ornery Tiger Oscar. Any suggestions on bottom feeders (non-pleco) that could safely co-habitate with my Oscar?

Raphael catfish are really good at hiding, and are pretty reclusive by nature so you probably won't see it very often.

+1, mine was 6-7 inches and hid in the smallest ornament you could imagine.

Really? So there is no chance he was eaten?

I have no plants in the tank and only 4 tank ornaments, there aren't many/any places that aren't visible in the tank (except under the gravel). I really see no trace of it. I am hoping he is still alive, but I have my doubts.

If the oscar ate it ,it'd probably die. Raphael are durable little things and not easily eaten
