Which pellets ?

If that's what works for you then stick with it.....There is a big crowd of satisfied Hikari customers here but NLS should be just as good and as far as which brand that most cichla go for,in my experience my kelberi stick with the flavor of the pellet that they were trained onto which is sinking cichlid pellets.I have been trying to get them onto sinking carnivore pellets but they take them in and spit them out so far but they should accept them completely pretty soon.

Yeah I know and both brands mentioned are two of the best you can give your fish.

Thanks oscarfishguy.I was impressed with Omega One and their claims when they came out but I don't think they have a line of pellets.

I really try to get my cichla when they are pretty near six inches as the young can be quite sensitive and I have had a few casualties with smaller ones. Most keepers on here that are more experienced in cichladom than I am will suggest fattening the young on good, safe live foods untill they are close to six inches and it's what I do but if you happen to come across some smaller fish that easily take to pellets then that should be fine.
