Hi
could anyone recommend a good pike for a 6' by 2' by 2' foot tank?
It has a baby oscar, large wild angels, various cats, and severums and plenty of hiding places.

Cheers Laurence

With what that tank is stocked with, I'd stick with a type of Saxatilis group pike. They generally stay smaller, and are 'less' aggressive for the most part. I'd be particularly nervous about those angels though, they seem like an easy target for aggression.

Some examples of Saxatilis pikes are:

Crenicichla sveni
Crenicichla lucius
Crenicichla alta
Crenicichla lepidota
Crenicichla anthurus
Crenicichla saxatilis

and many many more.

Depending on the other tankmates, I would feel perfectly comfortable with any of the easily obtained lugubris pikes as well. However, your 180 already sounds like it would be a mess to add a pike; at least not without some deaths.
