Ok here is the story.... I have a 55gal with a Senegal Bichir-10", Endlicheri Bichir-8", Leopard Ctenopoma-4", and Synodontis(Featherfin)Catfish-6"

Now I want to upgrade to a 75gal as my Senegal is frustrated with the 2" space while turning and my Endli won't like it either....Problem is my mom doesn't want a 75gal, even though it replaces the old 55gal and the 55gal will go in storage....Vote For the Plans above

I've heard of someone actually trying plan C and it worked. :D

I voted 2. I use this method with my wife, but i don't know how it would work with your mother. Once it's there and set up, there's not much she can do. In my case, i was hoping my wife wouldn't notice the extra 2ft my tank tacked on while she was gone....lol.

I figure that you live in her house, so you should listen to your mother.

i think number 3 is too convienent for you, see will know.

she probably thinks a 75 is so much bigger like a 20 gallon compared to a 55. i say number 2 and she either wont notice or really care. but i dont know your mom, im sure someone might have a psycho mom that pours bleach in it.

i always used to just mess with my mom and tell her my fish had babies(she didnt care if i added new fish but it was funny), one time i tried to convince her my clownfish had a tang. :)

as much as I hate voting for it, the best plan is to wait until you move out. its your parents place and while you are living there you should try and respect their rules.

I had to wait until I moved out to get the tank size I wanted too.

however, that does not mean that you can't keep working on her in order to eventually let you have the tank.

I don't think being deceptive is the answer.

No matter how effective it may be - I think lying to your own family should be avoided. It is very disrespectful to lie and should be reserved for people you do not respect.

You must also always persue your dreams in life. Tell her the truth about how much pleasure your hobby brings you. Be persistant and regular in telling her and she may well buy it for you as a present :)
