i have 145g tank and want a new pleco to help me with the weekly cleaning i had a common pleco for 8 years and it grew to a staggering 16 inch he was called titch he died last week and i want a replacement that will not get as large as titch i will consider getting more than 1 to share the work load i was thinking 10 zebra plecos

i have a clown in my 125 and he does a pretty good job, they get about 5 inches, there downfall is they are more nightime worker.

how much do they cost and how many should i buy two or three?

well they are cool looking plecos, id say get a green phantom they are really active, and dont grow that big prolly like 7 inches, if you want a awesome looking one id get a sunshine L14 pleco they look dope, never owned one b4. i only have a green phantom which is cool too.. L200

L-14 or goldie pleco can grow around 13" and dont do well with others of the same species from what I have read in the past. So I would only get one L-14 if that is what you decide to get. What are the other tankmates? Do you want one larger pleco or several smaller ones?

other tank mate are a feather fyn synodontis and peaceful american cichlids such as severums, keyholes and acaras.
i dont mind getting more than 1 but 1 would be less money and food.
what do you think of zebra plecs i really like them would a few of them be ok

While zebra plecos are beautiful, they are very, very expensive (at least $250 for a baby) and require specific tank conditions. People do not use them for tank cleaning. You could keep several bristlenose plecos in that tank. They stay small - 3 " to 5", and do an awesome job at cleaning the tank.
