In search of Leiarius
I need a pump to power nuclear canister filters and then have the output from the canisters power a waterfall.

-Coralife turbo-sea external 790-p

-Little giant 'quarium series 4-MDQ-sc

-Blueline 40 HD 790 gph

-Other please name.

In terms of price and especially energy efficiency Laguna pumps looked pretty hard to beat when I was researching pumps a while ago.

Yah , but they don't offer a high pressure pump with 20ft head pressure and at least 700 gph.

Dannermag makes a Hy-Drive 2600 that is rated for high head applications. It'll do 20'.

Aquatictech has it for a decent price.

I had two Turbo Sea pumps that lasted a very short time. It was in saltwater, but they were supposedly suitable for marine use. I replaced them with Iwaki pumps twelve years ago and they are still running flawlessly.

I use my Iwaki MD40RLT (the Blueline is a clone of this pump) to power my two NuClear canisters (100 and 25 micron cartridges). Attached is a photo of how I have it set up.

Thanks, I will look into both the hydrive and iwaki.

From the research i've done iwaki is the way to go, also if you need it to be quite the japanse motor is a bit quiter then the one with the american motor.

Iwaki all the way bro you pay a bit more for them but definitely get your moneys worth.

Thanks, i am going to do some serious pump research tonight.
I am going to put my boat up for sale this season and hopefully someone will buy it so I can get going on my 800 gallon setup.
