Hi all.
I have two red spot severum and due to aggression between the two of them I can only keep one. Please give me your thoughts as I'm having a hard time deciding. Whomever I keep will go in the 120 with a 4-5" female rotkeil (who rules the roost), a 3" chocolate severum who is very mellow at the moment, a 2" threadfin acara, and a 2" satanoperca and assorted other smaller fish (cupids, congo tetras).
The first one is the biggest at 5-6", he is in the big tank now. He defers to the smaller rotkeil, hasn't gone after the tiny congo tetras and is pretty personable with me. His color is not as good as the other and he is missing a part of his gill plate on one side (second picture right side to viewer.
The second is 4-5" and is more rounder which I like and has deeper orange color especially on his belly. He is a bit more scared, but not bad and I think he would come around. His gill plates are uniform. Both fish had some damage in shipping, this one was worse than the first. He has some grey splotches that look like slime coat damage and I don't know if they will completely disappear. I think they are getting better but it has been 3 months. Second picture is old one of grey splotches.
Also if any of you want the losing red severum, I would give it free to an MFK. I'm in Tahoe City, CA so you Sacramento or Reno types? And no, I'm not going to ship it.
