`I've been looking online at co2 kits. I found a couple and want to see which one you guys would buy
http://cgi.ebay.com/MA957-CO2-Regul...466?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5198386fe2

or this one at Dr Foster Smith

or from Rex

Or am I better buying piece by piece? I'm kinda on a budget but I want to do it right the first time.
I'm staying away from the crap from Hong Kong and taiwan, not sure if they ar compatible or durable and I am looking on CL as well. So are any of these good if not what do you recommend

I'm think I'm going to go with the Milwaukie. Heard a lot of good things about them

I got a Milwaukee when i first started and totally regretted it. I actually could sell you mine if you want. I only used it for a couple months. The problem i found with these regulators is that it takes a lot of work to keep a consistent bubble rate. One of the things your aiming for with a pressurized system is a constant bubble rate because this is vital for plants to have the same amount of co2 throughout the light cycle. Fluctuations in co2 just cause more algae problems and bad plant growth. The other problem is that you really have to keep an eye on your co2 tank because once the all the liquid co2 is gone you can get what's called an end of tank dump which will unload all the rest of your co2 into your tank which will kill your fish.

If i were in your situation i would look into building your own regulator. I would also look into getting a dual stage regulator. You can find these on ebay for a decent price. I found a victor VTS 252c for 99 cents +shipping and a Victor VTS 250d for 43 dollars. it'll can cost anywhere from 80 dollars to 130 for all the parts you need to make a top of the line system.

However, if you don't want to build one yourself i would go with the rex regulator build. But these days i hear he's pretty busy and it can take a long time for him to get it for you.

yes but then you can put your money into better parts (especially the needle valve) and get exactly what you want. You only need a couple wrenches and some teflon tape and pipe dope. Get the proper fittings from home depot and putting it together should be easy.
