is there a difernce in the level of aggresion in a fish based on its sex if so which sex is less aggressive in red terrors and jaguar cichlids

in most cichlids males are much more aggro than the females! and they usually get larger too! in most species males look nicer too! but not in all for example festae females look a lot better than their male counterparts!

More often than not it comes down to the individual fishes personality but generally you'll find males will do more damage because of their size.

Most of the info i've read suggests that in adult Festae, females are more aggressive than the male.

really oh i was hoping you would't say that dang i like red terrors but i can't keep a male as thay get like 18'' right and if thay are really aggressive then i can't get them to

i just relized that mayan cichlids are sold as red terrors are thay differnt than true red terrors if so i think that the pet store with a tank full of (true red terrors) my have one or two in there anybody got one?
