I am trying to decide which pair to put in my 200g tank. I think both are beautiful fish. Which would you guys choose and why? Or could I get both. I don't want them to kill each other though. What is the adult size of both fish and teperament and would they be compatible in this size tank? Thanks!

I have both.... My Istlanum are still juveniles though but my Salvini are larger.
They say Salvini can reach 6inches max so 200gs might be a bit to spacious... Istlanum might do better in that size of tank as they reach up to 11inches in males - maybe more.

You could probably get away with having both types in that large of an aquarium. If I were going to choose just one it would be Istlanum hands down...like anything else though make sure you get quality stock as I have seen some with weird head shapes lately.
i have both as well. istlanum is the choice on looks, agression, personality, you name it. i would not put them both in that tank. your gonna end up 1 way or another with 2 istlanums lol. 100 gal would be perfect for a pair of salvini. all my opinion of course.

Normally I'd say slavini, but with a tank that size dedicated to a pair, then I'd go for the larger of the two.
