ok so if you read my thread about brackish tank help, i was going to get some mudskippers for my empty 10 gallon. but i got a message from my grandparents saying that my grandpa had another aphonopelma sp. tarantula for me that they think is female to breed with my male. so which offer do i take? the mudskippers or the tarantula? i really like them both so which would you take given the choice? the fact the T is free doesnt matter to me, i have a gift certificate that will make the skippers free. so which one? thnx

skippers all day. the last thing i would want is hundreds of baby spiders in my house, that's just me.

Do you want to breed your T?.. I guess it boils down too. not a spider person.. personally I'de as soon squish it under my shoe. But if you like spiders, and want to get into breeding them. Sounds like your grandpa is making an effort to help you do this, and you should take him up on it if your interest is there. Mudskippers while not overly common, aren't rare. a suitable mate for your current T.. not sure but prolly isn't an easy aquire?.. I could be wrong.

ya my grandpa rox, he bought me my snake, caught me my socrpion my tarantula, and then paid for the new stuff for my gecko. the T is fairly rare to be captive bred around here but the skippers are in about 3 stores around here. so i was mainly asking which would you take?

since your grandpa went to the effort of acquiring it for you, i'd take the T just for that. the fact that he went out of his way to get it he would be happy if you took it i bet. you can always get skippers later in life

Take the spider for sure.

You can always save up the extra 40 bucks to get another 10gal tank going and get the mudskippers at that point.

ya i guess your right, i got a lifetime to get some skippers, never know how long with a grandpa's offers. thnx for the advice guys, give it a month and ill be posting pix of my new t for identification on which species.

I would take the spider for sure. What an awsome grandpa.
