Which snakehead do you recommend?

Hallo guys!

So i have bought an aquarium, with the dimension (130 cm long) ( 50 cm wide) (59 cm height)
It is 95 gallon. (360 litre). Currently need a stand for it + lighting.

I was wondering which snakehead species you could recommend me for the aquarium? I want it solo. And i want the snakehead to be a regular swimmer, and not a skittish one.

Those dimentions are perfect for a couple of Aurantis. I guess a single specimen would work well there too.

I have to say though, there is no such thing as a skittish snakehead, they're all active as long as you keep the tank well planted and dim-lit.

As long as you understand that size tank can only house the smaller, sub-tropical species, and will require changes in temperature throughout the year, you should be pretty happy with it, especially if you feet mealworms and crickets :)

Given i get myself a single Channa Aurantimaculata. How should the water current be? I know that there should be about 2 inch gap between water and surface, so they can breathe oxygen.
What Background color will makes the fish look best?
 
They live in quiet waters, sometimes even just little mud holes in dry seasons. They don't like current, at all.
While oxygen is important, it is almost as important as having a very tight fitting cover, they WILL escape any opening they get.
I liked my pair in a dark background better than in the white one I had, it's a matter of taste I guess.

You're going to have to trust me over your instincts if you want to see your fishes. People tend to keep bare bottoms so that their fishes are always visible (on top of easy maintenance I guess). You want the opposite for channas. A substrate allowing plants to thrive is a must, the more plants, the more outgoing your fish is gonna be. :)

Tan pool filter sand and a black background pulls out colour well. Lots of plants help keep the water clean since if I remember correctly they really don't like water changes.

I find fish are much more outgoing in well decorated aquariums
 
Okay. I thought of having 50 % water change a week. However, it is temperate and will get in the aquarium slowly.
I think i will have Cichlid sand and have a black background.
But i did plan to have high water flow at the top and an air filter.
 
Snakeheads don't like shifting water parameters. Most don't do much. Idk
 
Don't do 50% a week.
50% twice yearly and 10% a month will suffice.
