Which type of cichlid would you suggest putting in with a pair of convicts and a firemouth. i know i want a bristlenose pleco. but i havent decided on what to get yet. the tank is a 55. i also want something that will eat the convicts babies when the babies are older and the parents let them go on their own. i have lot of hiding areas for the babies because i will still want to let a few get a little bigger than the rest.

i think you should get a second tank and put a red devil in it or something and then just throw in the convict fry!!

I think with 2 convicts, a firemouth, and a BN pleco, you will be at your stocking limits IMHO. you might be able to add an acara. don't worry, the FM will eat plenty of fry.

ok thanks, if i put tons of pots in there (already there) will that help me be able to put more fish in? my friend has two pair of breeding convicts and they stay in the same cave, and i have lots of caves and i thought i could put a few plants and a pot in the corner and they would be ok. and right now another tank isnt an option. but if i can sell my snakes soon i can get a 75 gallon hopefully and get more fish and sell the 55 and get another 20 gallon. then i will have a 20 gallon community, a 20 gallon convict breeding tank, and a 75 gallon Sa/Ca cichlid tank.
