Some of you know that I recently purchased a Fluval Edge for my cubicle at work. I am thinking of making it a planted tank with low light plants. I will probably use a small airstone instead of a co2 system.

I got the black stand and I am contemplating which substrate should I use.

I got a white desk and the wall is of a light shade as well. I'm not sure if I should get the black or white substrate. Should I go the sand or gravel route?

Your input is very much appreciated!!!

Here are a few photos of how a planted edge can turn out to.

I think I will be losing valuable work hours because of all the visitors I will be getting in my cubicle but oh well...:D

Your poll and thread (TEXT) input is very much appreciated.

I think I might go the BLACK SAND FLUORITE route instead... LOL

Now is there a big difference with going with black sand fluorite or 3m quartz black sand? I had to ask because I will set it up as a planted tank.

i would not get flourite washing it is hell and impossible at a office. get eco-complete

I got Tahitian Black Moon Sand by the way.

I voted white sand.... But I love the stuff :) Very zen with plants and clean looking. Quick question do they all come with the ac150 ? every one ive seen for sale had one hooked up....
