Which tank stock to go with???

I have my 125 gal set up with 2 oscars and i reCently gave to a friend. Want to make it a community tank since we turned our basement into a man cave with with the TV and couch. Anyway figured id try some small plants as well.



First choice: mix of tetras from red eye to tiger barbs, gouramis, giant danios sword tails and other misc small fish.

My filter is a fluval fx5
But with less plants ( cuz im new to aquascaping)

If you like schooling fish (I do as well) why not stock with a couple of medium cichlids, an odd ball or two and then a nice sized school of tiger barbs or something?

Was thinking of getting a bunch of smaller fish that ill be active all the time. In my 55g ( in my bedroom) i have 6red eye tetras, 1 pearl and blue gourami, 1 firemouth and they are always out and about except for the firemouth.

Tetra's kind of defeat the purpose of a man cave, unless they are bucktoothed tetras! A huge school of Exodon would be pretty impressive.
