Which Tank to Go with???

I am in the process of getting a 300 gallon aquarium and am stuck between 2 different dimensions.

One is 96x30x25 & the other is 96x24x31.

Which one would be the best for the following fish that I hope to stock it with.

1-Tiger Oscar
1-Green Severum
1-Red Belly Pacu
1-Marble Sailfin Pleco
6-8-Tinfoil Barbs
Maybe a Venezuelan Eartheater

The above fish are some of my favorites but will this overstock a 300?

Also what would be the best filtration? A sump by itself. A sump with a canister, HOB filter or a combination??

Sorry for all the questions. but I want to make sure I set this tank up right.

96x30x25 if you ask me is better cause the width is a bit bigger..but the height might be better possibly? But im staying with 96x30x25

Id go for the one that is wider and less tall. You are not overstocking your tank and an fx5 and a sump would be a good combo for your tank.

-------->A sump filtration is always the best method for tanks over 100g........You can make one for under $150 for a 300g..........The pump is the only high cost here, probably around $100-$150........I have experience in 300g tanks..I beleive the dimensions were 96x30x24........We used two giant canister-like filters.......The tubing was done by the local aquarium dealer........This was in the early 90's, the Tru-Vu tank cost $1500, it was plexi glass.......Anyway, these days I here people are into the Fluval Fx5............

Thanks for all the advice.

I did not realize that Red Belly Pacus were tankbusters like the Black ones. If they are I will definitely skip a Pacu and get the Venezuelan Earth Eaters instead.

I will be doing a sump. What gallon sump for a 300 aquarium? I will check into the Fluval FX5 as well. Want to be sure I am overkill on filtration (My 75 gallon Goldfish aquarium is filtering 950 GPH).
