Which Tank ?

Ive got a 50 gal (3ft) tank and a 100 gal tank (6ft long) tank.

The 6ftx18x18 inch currenty houses some american cichlids, jack dempsey, argentea, jag and a few others... and the 50 gal is currently not in use. Now i used to keep africans in the 50 gal a while ago, and since got the 6ft'er.

Now i wanna go back to malawi's and wondering which would be the better tank.

Ideally id want a new tank, like a 5ft tall one but no money at the moment really so want to set somethin up now untill the new year or just wait ?

If it's a 50 gallon, you can go anything (with the assumption your getting a bigger tank). Use it as a growout for African fry (mbuna, peacocks, haps).

That's what I do! I have a 40 gallon growout. When they reach 5 inches, they go into my larger tanks.

hmm thats an idea.. if i set up the 50, and buy smaller fish surley they wont grow out too much before next year when i can upgrade the tank ?
