Hello everyone,

I would like to add a third tankmate in my 160 gallon in order to reduce the aggressiveness of the big one . Do you think it could be a nice idea? if yes , which tankmate could i add?
thx for advice.

another mala? :D
how about silver dollars.

well an other mala ^^ would be fun but 160 gallon is not enough i think ^^ and my 2 mala have grow together so .. it should be hard to add a third one. I dont know well about silver dollars, are they enough strong to be kept with hoplias malabaricus? i was thinking about strong cichlid but maybe i m wrong..

160g will be enough.
a for adding new fish, any fish will be at risk.
silver dollars are fast, high bodied and hardy.
which make great dithers.
ive seen sliver dollars survive and continue growing after having chunks ripped out of them.

Well atm i didnt find silver dollar, but someone who lives next to me sell his hoplias but he is only 6.69 inch so is it possible to add him with mine which are 11 inch..?

You will have two wolves in the tank and end up with one....really quickly......LOL...Dont do it...

my thoughts exactley.. Unless you have a male female pair.. which may be possible in this case.. it may just be the male picking on the female or vice versa.. I cant possibly reccommend you to put 3 in a 160 without knowing the footprint of said tank.. i would reccomend silverdollars or something of that nature since they arent territorial and are very hardy.. any cichlid that you put in there has a giant chance of getting a giant mouth with giant teeth wrapped around.. I have had cichlids provoke my previous wolves and the wolves would dispatch all but the biggest cichlids at will.. so proceed with caution..
