I HAVE THESE FLOWER HORN FROM PAST 1 YEAR NOW BUT DON'T KNOW ITS TYPE PLEASE HELP ME IDENTIFYING IT AND ALSO HE IS NOT GROWING KOK HE IS MALE .AND ALSO TELL HOW TO IDENTIFY ITS TYPE .HE ALSO LOOSE COLOR SOME TIME AND GAIN BACK WHEN I DO WATER CHANGE.HERE ARE SOME PIC OF MY FH AND ALSO TELL ME HOW IS THESE FLOWER HORN

To the op there are 3 main types of flowerhorns floating around nowadays zz, kamalau, and kamfa. Zz is usually red, some flowerline, red eyes and some pearls. Kamalau is a half zz half kamfa it usually has zz shape but kamfa pearls. Kamfa are the most unique they have fan tail, yellow or red eyes, good shape, bigger kok and colors/pearl are always different.

People go to a local store and buy whatever crap ZZ they have then come here asking what it is and its pretty and valuable and ask our opinions. We give them our opinions thats it not that great when it comes to Flowerhorn and say "it doesn't matter about the quality, all that matters is you like it".

I honestly can't recall anyone telling someone to get rid of theirs.

Chances are if you are buying a flowerhorn in the US from a store then its more than likely gonna be a really low quality ZZ from wholesale. There are a few occasions where they have something else but that hardly ever happens.
